Catriona grew up in London and is proud to been raised in such a diverse and multicultural environment. She graduated from the University of Manchester in 2011, with a degree in French and Social Sciences, then moved to Brighton to complete her PGCE. As part of her undergraduate degree, Catriona also lived in France for a year and speaks French fluently. Catriona gained a lot of experience teaching in the UK, including two years teaching at a bilingual English and Spanish primary school. Here, Catriona took responsibility for leading English across the school and qualified as a Middle Leader. From working in a bilingual English/Spanish setting, Catriona is highly skilled at teaching EAL learners, and has a high level of spoken and written Spanish. Catriona has travelled extensively and has been involved in many volunteering projects along the way. She is particularly interested in ecological issues, and how we can protect the Earth for future generations. In her free time, Catriona keeps fit through running and yoga. She loves music and spends a lot of time going to gigs and writing songs. She also writes poetry and is in the process of writing series of space-themed children’s books. She is fascinated by astronomy and would have been an astronaut if she hadn’t become a teacher!
